Privacy

Kaya Card exists so you can show employers who you are. That means the card you build (your name, photo, headline, skills, bio, resume, links, and voice intro) is public by design at your card link. You choose what goes on it, you can change it any time, and you can unpublish or delete it any time.

What we collect

Your email address (to sign you in; we use one-time codes, so there's no password to store), the content you put on your card, and basic view statistics. For statistics we count card views, voice plays, resume views, and contact taps. We do not store your visitors' IP addresses or build visitor profiles. Views are counted using a one-way daily hash, and we can't tell you who viewed your card, only how many people did.

When you apply to a job

Applying with your card shows that employer your public card and nothing else, and records which link you used to get there (so the employer can see which job board works for them). The employer may keep private notes about you, move you through their hiring stages, and save you for a future job. All of that sits in their workspace on Kaya, not anywhere else, and it is all deleted when you delete your card. If you unpublish, they stop seeing you until you publish again. Employers agree to use what they see to hire and for nothing else.

What we never do

We don't sell your data. We don't show ads. We don't put trackers on your public card beyond our own view counting. Your voice intro is yours. We store it so your link keeps working (that's the whole point), and we don't use it for anything else.

Email: sign-in codes vs updates

These are two different things and we keep them that way.

Sign-in codes are how you get into your account. There is no password, so this email is the key to your card. We send it whenever you ask for one. You cannot turn it off, and nothing you do to your other email settings will stop it.

Updates, occasional news and hiring tips, are only ever sent if you ticked the box asking for them. The box is never ticked for you, you can claim your card without it, and you can change your mind at any time from your account settings or the unsubscribe link in any update we send. We record when you agreed and the exact wording you agreed to, so there is always a record of what you were asked.

Unsubscribing from updates never affects your sign-in codes. If you ever stop receiving a code you asked for, that is a fault on our side. Email us.

Photos

Uploaded photos are re-encoded on our servers, which strips hidden metadata such as GPS location before the photo is ever shown publicly.

Deletion is real

Deleting your account is a hard delete: your card, statistics, photo, resume, and every version of your voice intro are erased from our database and from file storage in the same action. Replacing a photo or resume deletes the old file immediately too.
